At Knox College, a federated college of the University of Toronto, students integrate faith with practice. The small college atmosphere fosters a strong community, yet as part of the Toronto School of Theology, students have access to over 300 graduate courses. Online and video-conferenced courses available. Generous financial aid offered to all students.
Knox welcomes a diverse community of students, faculty and staff from Canada and around the world. Our small classes are lively with interaction among students and faculty. Our weekly lunches gather the community for casual conversations over a meal while chapel services provide both traditional and new and creative ways of worship.
Knox College offers eight degree programs in Master’s and Doctoral levels. For example, the Master of Divinity balances spiritual formation with critical approach to our faith, preparing women and men for ministry. The Master of Pastoral Studies program focuses on spiritual care, preparing students to be Helping Professionals in areas like Christian counselling, Psychotherapy, Chaplaincy, or Social Ministry.
Practicums & Internships
Experiential learning is a cornerstone of our curriculum. Students preparing for congregational ministry engage in a practicum to gain hands-on experience. Placements are also available in hospitals and social service agencies. Students in spiritual care and psychotherapy program complete 2 Clinical Pastoral Education units with over 400 hours of training under experienced supervisors.
